The new cable car takes you up to Nesaksla, a steep mountain over Åndalsnes, to the height of 697 meters above the sea. It started its operation in May 2021. Fjord station got a strategic location in the city centre, between the railway station, the bus terminal, Tindesenter and the port.
The mountain station and Eggen restaurant at the top are built at an altitude of 708 meters above the sea level. Read more and book a table here.
There are several hikes that you can combine with the cable car. You may want to experience the most popular Romsdalseggen ridge hike that starts in Vengedalen (Isfjorden) and takes you over the ridge to Nesaksla - the cable car top station. You can take a refreshment in the restaurant while you enjoy the magnificent view, and use the lift down to Åndalsnes.
Rampestreken, a favorite hike destination, is about 20 minutes down from the cable mountain´s station.
