Winter in Romsdal

Alpine skiing / Randonee
KIRKETAKET (1 439 m)
One of the many local mountain peaks and goal for many skiers. To the majestic peak of Kirketaket, you can set off right from the Heinåli hytta.
The cabin is located at the foot of the beautiful Romsdal mountains. You can set off to many nice peak trips like Kirketaket that is one of the most popular top tours in the area. Among the others, it is Galtåtind, Loftskarstind, Moanebba, Blånebba, Skarven and many others.

Cross-country skiing
There are prepared ski tracks, one of them goes along the cabin. You can just put on your ski and get good training on a sunny winter day.
Downhill skiing
Are you fond of downhill skiing? There are two nice ski resorts near the house where you can spend a nice active day.
is located in Isfjorden, just a few kilometres from the cabin. You will find a T-lift 1100 meters long there, with 3 slopes from easy to demanding level. There is a new warm room with a possibility to buy a small refreshment. A nice place for the whole family.
is ca 45 min drive from the house. It offers an alpine resort of the middle-high standard. With the snow security from November to May. It is one of the resorts with the longest ski season in Norway. There are 6 lifts, one of which is 6-seater Express lift, and 11 slopes with a total length of 19,6 km.
There is 100 km of prepared cross-country trails. There is ski rent, ski school, ski shop/service and café.
Snowshoe
Are you looking for a new winter experience?
Try snowshoeing with a magical view from the top of Nesaksla. Let the newest gondola take you up to 708 meters over the sea.
With the rented snowshoes, you also get a map with routes and tips. If you are unfamiliar with the area, you can book a guided tour.
After an active trip, you can enjoy hot chocolate at the Eggen restaurant.
Husky sledding at the foot of Trollstigen
Get to know Siberian huskies and drive one of them with a sled among the beautiful Romsdal mountains. You will receive a short training from a guide and then you will enjoy a lovely driving route of 3 km.
At the end of the tour, you get a hot drink and cinnamon rolls as a reward.
